SOAAN is an initiative coordinated by IFOAM – Organics International (formerly the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), aimed at advancing the sustainability of organic agriculture globally.
Developing guiding resources: SOAAN works to produce principles, objectives, best practices, and indicators designed to measure continuous improvement toward fully sustainable agricultural systems. Supporting capacity building and strategy development: Its tools are integrated into IFOAM’s broader Organic Development Mechanism (ODM) for use in advocacy, communication, research agendas, and standards development. Collaborative structure: The network brings together institutions in both the Global North and South, including IFOAM, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), and around fifteen additional partners to foster a balanced, inclusive approach.
